Guys on the 2nd February, I am going to be sleeping rough for one night to raise funds and awareness to help to support rough sleepers across Hull. I work hard to support individuals who have been sleeping rough on the streets, and help to find them appropriate accommodation. However, how am i meant to understand what they are going through, if I do not experience what staying on the streets is like? Please Please sponsor myself, and also my amazing team! It is supposed to be one of the coldest weeks when we are staying out, so please make it worth it and sponsor me!!
Abit about the service:
Each night, the Futures service provide accommodation for between 80 and 90 vulnerable individuals at any time who don’t have anywhere else to sleep.
But this is only part of what they do.
Last month, the Futures service assisted around 60 people in to appropriate accommodation suitable for their needs.
Every week, across two buildings, 595 breakfasts are served, to people either accommodated temporarily at the Centre or individuals still sleeping rough but accessing the Breakfast Club to receive support, a warm meal and use the shower and laundry facilities.
Each night the Centre accommodates between 10 - 20 individuals simply for overnight accommodation as part of the city's winter provision to prevent them sleeping rough.
